Where terminals do not already have them, closed circuit cameras ough to be installed in most intercity terminals backed by a trained security detail to keep the homeless and other riff raff out of the terminals. In addition to the waiting rooms, cameras should be placed in the public areas of restrooms to guard against shenanigans going on therein. Bus Terminals should not be turned into airport terminals. That would be overkill. Surface travel should be made as attractive as possible, but on the other hand is the need to keep undesirables out of the terminals. After all, they are TRANSPORTATION facilities, NOT homeless shelters.

Dieseljim -

"Oughta' be" and "should be" are often desired objectives. Whatever to do with sites financed through taxpayers funds?

It is one of the reasons Baltimore has no bus facility adjacent AMTK, to the inconvenienece of all, and discourages through ridership.
Evidently, neither the City (chronically complaining it is worse than broke), and the State (with claims no money to be found in budgets
that always have increases, despite all posturing about budget cuts and prudent actions), wanted any part of it. Why? Enforcement
and security costs, needed to run a presentable and rider acceptable station! Then, too, we are all to agonize over violations of the
claimed rights of those who should be barred from the station...

Ah! The joys of depending on Higher Powers writing checks for all this nonsense! Only the most naive would believe it is the same as
if it continued operation as private enterprises...
