Okay, Wayne --

Thanks for posting the photos, but where/what/when would be nice here and there. The red shorties with 'Circulator' on the front and side -- what are they?

Good stuff at any rate.

Listing the info is indeed nice, but it's something that I rarely do. I'll do it this time since you requested it, but I won't commit to it in future postings.

I don't know the model designation of the DC Circulator baby Van Hools.

Van Hools!

Why didn't I recognize them? DUH.

I had seen some of their stuff out in Oakland in operation at AC Transit back when the Motor Bus Society had its meeting out there in 2005. Not terribly well-liked by passengers, drivers or the people who had to try and keep parts stocked. Don't know what the mechanics think about them...

Seems that Van Hool would wait until they had a truckload of part orders, then ship all the stuff at once from Belgium to the US. Not so good when a bus is sitting in the yard dead needing crucial repair while the factory is waiting for enough parts ordered to fill a shipping container!

What I liked about your pix was the variation of camera angle, foreground and background images and the fact that the buses were out on the street in service. Roster shots are nice, but good photos of the buses in service, loading passengers, etc., are sometimes hard to find.

Timecruncher,

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the pics. I also like what I call "action" shots. Buses/trains doing their thing. I'll take pics of a parked transit vehicle or one that's not in service. However, I very much prefer to photograph those that are in service carrying passengers.

I did see some of ACTransit's small Van Hools too when I visited the Bay Area in the Fall.
