I agree that the second bus is hard to identify. I could be wrong with my small screen and bad eyes, but could it be 461? The last digit appears to be a "1".

There is no identifying info with the picture so we don't know when it was taken.

According to a post by Sol Zeller on Dave Pirmann's old board on 3/9/2000 Private Transportation was started by Marcus Pearlstein sometime in 1960with some old rented 1948 PD 4101's.

Then with UMTA funds he purchased 3 new TDH-5302's. A quick glance at OMOT does not bear this out.

Sadly Marcus' son Izzy who was a mechanic was crushed to death between two buses when an e-brake accidentally released.

The company was then taken over by Jack marmerstein, one of the drivers who made it into the successful company it is.

No dates are given so I can't tell if those buses are from the Pearlstein or Marmelstein regimes.

Yes, a pair of T6H5306As in 1971. I'm pretty sure the CitySights SBM TourLoopers were also purchased new.

I saw a Gillig Phantom numbered 511 today while I was on the BM4. This bus however did not appear to be originally operated by Avis.

511 is ex Minneapolis Metro Transit 2358. I'm not sure what year the bus was because it was missing its registration sticker.

I also saw 504 which is a 1998 Gillig Phantom. This bus was originally Avis 12.

NYAS 722 was also on the B110 today.

2358 is a 1995 Phantom, according to this post.

How long before double-deckers show up on the B110? Laughing

Private has recently added another Gillig Phantom numbered 516 to their fleet. I will try to get more info about this bus in the near future.

There is also a Gillig phantom numbered 515. This bus like 511 appears to be an ex-Twin City Metro bus. It appears as if 515 and 516 replaced 202 and 507 as the buses assigned to the B110 on sunday were 504, 505,506, 510, 511, 515 and 516.
