After a phone conversation with my bus industry contact, it seems to me that one reason behind Greyhound purchasing more Prevost coaches is their apparant dissatisfaction with the quality of the current crop of MCI models, many of which are now in their fleet. This is particularly true of the G4500 model and its variants. He believes that what MCI should be building is more MC12s. I suggested models MC7 thru MC12 inclusive as these are REAL highway coaches, the rest of them said to be fiberglass junk. Frankly, I find it incredible that the Federal Highway Administation or US DOT even allows this junk on our highways. The DL3 is another matter, though. If Greyhound wants increased business, then cheapening the product is NOT the way to do it, as far as quality goes and with junk buses populating their fleet, that is exactly what they a re doing.

Greyhound should simply ask MCI to produce an over the road version of their D4500 commuter coach.

Either an over the road version of the D4500 or more MC12s, or even MC7s,8s, and 9s, to go along with more12s>

I suppose the D4505 would fit the bill.

I thought the 4500 was an 'Over The Road' bus!

What Greyhound has to learn is that 'if it aint broke, don't fix it'!

As far as I'm concerned, nothing touches the 4500's!

Isn't that bus also known as the 102DL3? Having riddin on it several times, it seems to be the best of the bunch. J4500 is not bad either. I have ridden on those of Lakefront and New York Trailways.

MCI changed its model designations around 1999 or 2000.
