Got this email from the MTA. The new system includes individual bus route notification for ALL routes in the MTA world, as well as Bridge and Tunnel, and even SIR notifications.
==============================================================
IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT YOUR NYCT, LIRR, MNR TEXT ALERT SUBSCRIPTION. Please go to www.mta.info/ealert to continue this service.
The MTA will launch an improved alert notification system on Tuesday, November 25. As an existing NYCT, LIRR, or MNR alert customer, your account will be temporarily migrated to the new system. However, there are actions you MUST take in the next 30 days to continue to receive alerts.
On Tuesday 11/25/08 we will send you an email that tells you how to sign in to the new system with a new temporary password. The new system will offer enhancements such as time-of-day service notification, but you MUST verify the services for which you want to receive alerts.
Beginning Tuesday messages will have a new domain name - the email address from where we send our messages - "@alerts.mta.info". If you or your employer have spam filtering, this new domain name must be recognized as valid. In some cases it will need to be added to your address book.
If by Wednesday you have not received the new email from @alerts.mta.info, check your spam or junk mail folder to see if it was delivered there. |
