I heard a rumor the other day that Gillig has phased out the Phantom. Does anybody know if this is true? If they did, who got the last order?

Yes, Gillig has discontinued the Phantom (it is no longer shown on the 'Products' page on their website). Reportedly, the last Phantoms went to Bloomington, IN.

Does that mean that the parts supply to maintain these buses is going to dry up, forcing the retirement of Phantoms that are still in operation? Rochester, NY has a number of these buses and I believe Buffalo does too.

No, the parts will be available for many years to come. The Flxible Metro stoped production in 1995 and parts for those buses are still readily available.
