I had the opportunity to visit the Housatonic Area Regional Transit facility in Danbury yesterday. HART is in the process of placing new Gilligs in service, replacing the 1996 RTS fleet. Some of the RTS's may be turned over to Connecticut DOT for use in New Britain, to alleviate an equipment shortage. Below are some pictures that I took while there.

Excellent photos. The new Gilligs look very nice with their shade of blue, although they're a bit plain -- they could use a logo on the side.
I assume that Orion I 106 isn't used in service anymore... I remember seeing it in service in May 2007, though. |

The Orion I is used as a spare. It's the last of the 1989 Orions. This particular bus was used in a film called Reckless w/Mia Farrow that came out in the early 90's
We were going for an uncluttered and easy to maintain look on the Gilligs.
You are correct, some of the RTS buses are destined for New Britain. |
