The bus was WMATA's #9355, Flxible Metro-B 40102-6C, like this one.

Get your Metro-B pics now - I'm sure WMATA is going to examine those buses very carefully and will probably limit their use after this accident.

They already don't come out much outside of rush hours. If WMATA does find a problem with them, then there would have to be a big bus swap happen as about 60% of Royal division's fleet is made up of these Metro-Bs.

They were trying to keep these buses around a little longer to handle overcrowding. I still lean towards something with the interlock, that the operator somehow did not secure the bus and relied on the interlock keeping the bus from moving, until he closed the door and off it went.
