Centro pumps up bus service
Centro is unveiling bus service, including an express from Baldwinsville to downtown Syracuse, that should make getting to work easier for people seeking relief from high gas prices. More details about the changes can be found at www.centro.org after 1 p.m. today.
Some of the service changes affecting suburban Onondaga County routes and Park-N-Ride locations begin Monday. Others will begin July 14. Centro also plans to announce service enhancements and more Park-N-Ride locations in September.

Centro Announces Service Enhancements for Syracuse/Onondaga County
Syracuse, NY-- Centro will introduce extensive route enhancements in coming weeks. The changes will occur in two phases.
June 30, 2008
Additional Service to Fairmount Fair
Centro's midday service on it's 74 Solvay-Milton Route will be extended to Fairmount Fair providing 7 trips daily between 8:30am-4:45pm. A new Park-N-Ride shelter has also been erected at Fairmount Fair and will be served by Centro's 78 Fairmount, 36 Camillus and select 236 Auburn Trips.
New Service to DeWitt Town Hall
Centro's 723 Surburban East-Minoa bus will make 5 midday trips to the DeWitt Town Hall between 10am-3pm.
Park-N-Ride service - Syracuse University to Wegmans DeWitt
Centro's 530 Westcott-SU route will include service to Wegmans DeWitt for three afternoon trips. This will allow direct afternoon service to Centro's DeWitt Wegmans Park-N-Ride from the Syracuse University area.
Service for New Venture Gear & Raymond Corporation
Centro's Route 22 Carrier & New Venture Gear has been altered to provide service for 2nd shift workers at both of these employment locations. In addition, some trips have been altered to provide better access to nearby hotels.
Service for Excellus
Centro has altered the time of one 262 Fayetteville-Manlius leaving downtown in order to provide an arrival time at ShoppingTown at 7:00am near Excellus' future location.
July 14, 2008
New EXPRESS service from Baldwinsville to Downtown
Centro will add an 282x Baldwinsville Express bus that will serve the Radisson and Baldwinsville Communities and Tri-County Mall Park-N-Ride before providing highway service directly to downtown Syracuse arriving at 7:25am. This trip will then continue as a 162x Fayetteville-Manlius trip via 690 East to Widewaters, Shoppingtown and Excellus.
A return 162x Fayetteville-Manlius trip originating at Excellus at 4:40pm will provide service from ShoppingTown, Widewaters to downtown, arriving at approximately 5:00pm. This trip will then provide direct highway service as a 282x Baldwinsville Express to Tri-County Mall, Baldwinsville and Radisson.
Additional EXPRESS service from DeWitt to Upstate Medical University
Centro will add an additional 262x Fayetteville-Manlius trip leaving Wegmans DeWitt Park-N-Ride at 8:07am, arriving at Sarah Loguen St. at 8:22am. An additional return trip leaving Sarah Loguen St. at 4:10pm will arrive at Wegmans DeWitt at 4:25pm.
*The new schedules for the changes effective June 30, 2008 will be available online Friday afternoon June 27th. Printed schedules will be distributed as soon as possible.
*The new schedules for the changes effective July 14, 2008 will be available online, Friday afternoon July 11th. Printed schedules will be distributed shortly thereafter.
