A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to spend a day in Pittsburgh PA.
Pittsburgh has 3 rivers and lthere are a lot of bridges with interesting architectural features. It is also a very hilly city whose streets follow the lay of the land and do not follow an orderly pattern or grid. Driving there is a bit challenging, even for a native New Yorker.
PAT, the local transit agency, runs a tidy bus fleet that is very different from the buses commonly seen in NYC and Metropolitan NJ.
They operate a number of 40' Gillig Low Floors painted in a variety of different color schemes (e.g. dark green, gold, pale aqua, etc.) SOmeof these units appeared to be hybrids (with boxy structures mounted to the rear rooftop).
I saw at least one Gillig Phantom, a Flxible Metro, plus an older 2-door Classic transit painted in a red, black and white livery that reminded me of Toronto's TTC color scheme.
Single-door Classics used to be pretty common in NYC (the PBL's once had 299 of them) but I think that only GBL had a few 2-door Classics in their fleet. Today, Classics of any door configuration are becoming a rare sight, much like the Fishbowls they were designed to replace.

PAT also operates Neoplan AN-460A articulated buses, AN-440LFs, and AN-345/3 Metroliners.

PAT's Classics are fairly new -- from 1995 or 1996, I believe. They're built by NovaBUS.

Rochester,NY has had both versions of the Classic, single door suburban with high back seats and the two-door urban transit version. Now that's a REAL bus as it should be.,
