There's no question that the information culled from modern speedometers on today's hi tech buses can be vital to safe and efficient operation.
However, I can tell you what 'modern' speedometers told us in the fifties; and that was just about how fast we were going!
That's to say when they were working! when they weren't, they usually made funny noises with the needle jumping from one end of the dial to the other like a windshield wiper.
How uncomplicated things were in those days!
