I think you will agree that, in NO WAY, can ANYONE make a connection between either of the "Noo Yawk" teams of today to the true "Iron Men" of so many years ago; heck, even the MANAGERS were of far sterner stuff, and KNEW how to motive players, a FAR cry from 2026.................

"Noo Yawk" baseball "nooze" for Monday.............
Right now, the ever-pompous, ever-swaggering "Boulevardiers" are being soundly WHUPPED by the CARDINALS!
Mercifully, the Mets are off this evening.....

Yep, those "AYF's" sure are far from gruntled. How many of them, coming home, were more to be seen on the D train than on the 4? (What was the old saying, Happy fans can be seen on the els, disgruntled fans are more underground?)
A shame the last of "Saint Looie's" subway cars weren't running, that's all I'll say. Amazing the Cardinals' nickname - "Redboids" - was the same as the last of the "SMEE" cars they made, the final ones retired in 2003. |

W.B.:
Now that you bring it up, it's hard to believe that the era in which "St. Looie"-built cars dominated the subways has long since ended.
Too, the only "Els" up in" Da Bronx"are tied into the subway, and not "independent", as was the "Toid Aven-uh"El.
Look at how many years it has now since the last"Ay-See-Ef" cars ran.........
