Indeed, Old Looks SOUNDED and LOOKED "friendly"; they also had a more "refined" sound than the tough-looking MACKS, WHITES, and ACF-BRILLS, but no less POWERFUL!

Imagine these as an intercity coach? 
Somewhere, long ago, I had read that GREYHOUND, at one time, had shown some (short-lived)interested in these monolithic streamliners.................

| The Futureliners remind me of that Diesel passenger engine with the cab on top and very futuristic looking. Didn't know Oral Roberts had one! |

Also, note the "cockpit" for the driver; the Pickwick Nite Coahed also had an elevated "cockpit"for the driver.
Years ago, on a now-defunct Greyhound site ,there was a neat artist's rendition of a "Futurliner" as a GREYHOUND bus......VERY impressive!

Forgot about the Pickwick Stages bus with the elevated cockpit. Way ahead of it's time!
Now the Scenicruiser is a bus that I can relate to as I've riden on them. This was later in their life when they had the 8V-71 engines installed. Those buses could really "haul." |

Sadly, I never got to ride a SCENICRUISER, but I certinly remember them as a kid, at the old GREYHOUNDnstation opposite Penn Station in Manhaatan, and the Lincoln Tunbel.
I also have several SCENICRUISER manuals in my collection, and nearly 100 vintage toy SCENICRUISERS, most well over 60 years old!
Indeed, the iconicSCENICRUISER was "America's Bus"........
