As the TARS network in Manhattan would never see even a lone demo PCC, cars like these were the most "modern" in the fleet.

Had TARS ever operated PCC's, they would have been the only PCC's to operate via underground conduit, besides those that operated in Washington, DC, until 1962........

Two "#35" PCC's are heading down 39th St., with the gritty remains of a recent snowfall in evidence along the curbs.......

Sands Street, about 1950, with a PCC and a trolley bus about to pass one another; this view is somewhat rare, as it shows the rear of a Brooklyn trolley bus, with its distinctive "gun slot" windows......

Two Route #35 PCC's at the 1st Street loop; note the timelessness presented by the "classic" overhead and vintage metal-shaded lights on the line poles.......

#1010 (with its "Old Look-style roof vent) passes another PCC on Church Avenue, just west of Kings Highway, in the early 50's.

Note the classic "bullet nose" Studebaker on the right.......

The unique CLARK #1000, seen here enjoying a brief respite from daily chores, outside the 9th Avenue depot.......

Here's a rare view of #1000 at the BMT's Coney Island shots; there is much of interest here, for the "juice fan"........ Wink

So much of what would soon become "Lost Brooklyn" is portrayed here; when this photo was snapped in early 1956, it would be only several more months until the last Brooklyn streetcars pulled down their poles for the final time.

Indeed, it was the twilight of a long and colorful era........

#1051, assigned to the "#67", laying over at the loop terminal, two blocks from the sprawling 9th Avenue depot.......

#1045 is here crossing the "Belt"; note the double-arm line pole, which, though commonplace in a number of cities, were rare in Brooklyn......
