With the closing of Rochester, NY's Midtown Plaza, which was the first of the indoor shopping malls when it opened in 1962, the bus terminal serving Greyhound and Trailways, along with RTS routes 20-Brockport,21-Fairport,22-Penfield, and17-East Avenue now located at Midtown is good through October, beyond that, who the heck knows. Midtown is slated to be torn down so Paetec Corp. can build a new headquarters on the location. It made me wonder, why not used some of the existing buildings instead? Such ass backward planning and wastefulness are among the reasons that Rochester seems to be becoming a drug and crime ridden cesspool. Such moronic planning and decision making destroyed the Rochester Subway. Several times I even suggested putting Greyhound,Trailways, these several RTS routes and Amtrak all in one location for TRUE INTERMODALISM. It seems like Rochester has some of the most brain dead retarded morons of any City Hall in New York State. They focused on the rest of the RTS bus system and forgot the over the road carriers, which are important, too. |
