They are all over the Northeast - I've seen them throughout New York state and southern New England.

There really aren't that many Prevosts in comparison to the total Greyhound fleet. Right now, the Northeast (particularly the Boston-New York-Washington corridor) is hotly competitive, bus-wise. Greyhound will probably keep its best buses in that part of the country for the time being.

It also has to simplify maintenance to some degree. Only a few garages have to stock parts and maintenance personnel can become more familiar with the Prevost product versus MCI.

It may take some time before long distance pools are re-equipped. Most likely, Greyhound will rebuild the MCI 102DL3's with some, if not all, of the amentities found in the Prevosts and paint them in a similar scheme.

If any one bus is the best of the current generation MCI, outside of the retiring MC12, it is the 102DL3, most of the rest of them are pieces of junk. When the DL3 is rebuilt, I hope a few of the seats go as 55 seats so close together is really packing them in like sardines. I ought to know, I've been on one really packed DL 3. In addition to the amenities found on the new Prevost, the only other way to improve the DL3 is more legroom in that bus. It would make a generally exellent MCI bus even better.

The new Prevost coach ought to be a wakeup call for MCI to stop turning out so much junk and if they have not done so already, stop building them south of the border. Especially stop building so many rolling fire traps, too. I think I am going to like the new Prevost coach.

Dieseljim - All -

In its Inter Office Memos, hasn't Greyhound declared its switch from MCI to Prevost? History repeats...

Yea, I see them every morning coming out from the Lincoln tunnel. I realy loved the look of them from day one. The font on the side mixed the with Chrome look is a real tip "o" the hat to Greyhounds early days.

Good job Greyhound.

It may be of interest that the "terminal" for at least some of these routes is 34th Street, just to the west of 8th Ave. Both Bolt and Greyhound utilize this curbside "terminal". At some times of the day, you can't pass on the sidewalk it is so crowded. On rainy days, people have to huddle under the theater marquee nearby. It is really organized chaos trying to board the bus, or walk on by. Only 7 blocks uptown is the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Do they charge big access fees that the bus lines don't want to pay? This seems really to be a disservice to paying riders.
