Seen below is the latest addition to the Antelope Valley Transit Authority's special commuter express service between the high desert and West Los Angeles.

Number 4751 is a brand new MCI Model D 4500 CT Commuter Coach, and a real beauty if I must say so myself.

The company runs two morning and two evening shuttles between the Beverly Hills/Century City section of West L.A. and Lancaster/Palmdale to the north.

Photos were taken on a PM layover at Fairfax Avenue and Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.

Great shots Mr. L, The MTA just got a bunch of those too. They ride very smooth and they are also faster than all the other MCI's.

Mr "L" -

Gotta' chuckle over this! At present, there is a somewhat heated rail war going on locally. Hugely expensive operations proposed, with little
evidence of any significant ridership. It attracts its share of violently anti-auto, anti-highway foamers. (Maybe they can be cited for "hate crimes"?)...

The example you show here make the point that Express Bus an elegant service, done with a good bit of elan and polish. Thank you! There
are worse things than nicely done Parlor Coaches...
