Washie,

Gray Coach Lines has nothing to do with the Gray Line franchises, and operates or operated as a subsidiary of Toronto Transit Commission in Canada.

You will find the story of Gray Coach on page 21 of the 'Bus Nostalgia' series under 'Manufacturers' elsewhere on this site.

Gray Line Tours, which is mainly a sightseeing service, operates independent franchises worldwide.

In the U.S. years ago, they were known as 'Tanner Gray Line'

Gray Coach Lines DID hold the Gray Line franchise for Toronto, for which they purchased 20 GMD SDH5302 suburbans with glass top roofs and some without. The Mercedes Benz coaches they had were also used in Gray Line sightseeing service as well. Both can be found in my booklet on Gray Coach Lines.

Sorry about that but I had no reason to associate the two entities because Canada Coach is not wearing the 'Gray Line' trademark.

Also, nothing in the history of Gray Coach that I researched made any mention of a Gray Line connection.

Thanks for the input.

Canada Coach Lines operated Gray Line tours in the Niagara Falls area and put the Gray Line logo on some of their 1900 series GM "fishbowls" I have a photo of one in one of the printings of my Canada Coach Lines booklet and that bus and certain of its sisters all model SDM4501s or 4502s alternated between Grayline tours and regular line service frequently. I rode on one of their all day tours which had admission to most of the attractions on the Canadian side included in the price. Yes, I had a fishbowl bus on that tour.

Washie,

Here's a little gift for you from San Francisco for your album.

It's the latest thing in sightseeing from Gray Line.

Enjoy.

Now that double decker bus carries sightseeing to perfection. It is like a bid of London coming to America. It has the capacity and the looks of aLondon double decker. Now if they could only do a remake of the Route master

Nice shot of that 4515. Grey Coach always puzzled me in that it operated intercity service but was 'owned' by the massive TTC. Bland color scheme, too!

Gray Coach Lines operated no fewer than 45 of the buses of that model and painted them, or at least some of them in their white scheme during their final years of service.
