(SEE PREVIOUS POSTS/LINKS)

The PRR also had aservicing yard for its non-electric engine at South Amboy ;NJT also closed this yard in 1983..

In this classic 1950s photo, we see a "G", a "K-4", and a train of"MP-54s" on the "motor yard" lead.

On the far left, we also see a CNJ Shore train heading for Jersey City.............

NY&LB yards...............

Until Aldene (1967) the CNJ maintained a small engine facility (w/turntable) at Red Bank.

There was also a a small yard for CNJ mail cars at Point Pleasant (this yard was relinquished to a lcal freight company in 1965, after the CNJ lost its mail contract)

Today, there are only two yards on the NJCL (NY&LB): Long Branch and Bay Head.................

Scary,,,,,,,,,,,,

Heard this morning that, in January, AMTRAK will be allowing GUNS (in lock boxes) on certain trains.

With so many highly-unstable people commiting mass shootings these days, one wonders WHAT the carrier is doing?

My last AMTRAK trip was back in 1997......I'm so very fortunate I have no need (nor desire) to travel on ANY sort of public transport these days..........
