So far, the Mets are CRUSHING "Pittsboigh" - while, against "da Braves" at the "SINO," the "Boulevardiers" aren't even on the scoreboard.

I read it was 11-1, but . . . indeed, a win is a win is a win.

1969.......

For the Mets (and their fans), a truly historic and memorable year.

For transit buffs, however, too much was about to disappear down the echoing corridors of time.......

"Noo Yawk" baseball "nooze"for Monday............

The "Boulevardiers" were off tonight, but the Mets were "on duty", and chalked up another WIN!! Very Happy

Of course, they're ou of the postseason, but it IS most REFRESHING to see them " getting back in the swing" again...... Wink

"Noo Yawk" baseball"nooze" for Tuesday..........

The Mets weren't even on the scoreboard this evening, while it looks like the already overly-inflated heads of the "Boulevsrdiers" and their "AYFs" are are swelling still more. Sad

Rinse and repeat.............. Sad

Not to mention a seesaw and ever-volatile pendulum. Wasn't it the reverse just a few days ago - the Mets won while far-from-gruntled "AYF's" were heading home mostly on D's because they didn't want #4 passengers to see their dissatisfaction?

Of those that made their exit from the scene in '69, only the '38 WF cars on the "Toid Aven-yah" el were still operating by the time the Mets won the World Series. But, again, not for long. On the "soiface," the "protruding front sign" "Kramdens" were still operating on tony Fifth "Aven-yew" - but after the Knicks won their first NBA championship, they too disappeared from the scene. (As they did from "da Bronx.")

W.B.:

Indeed,1969 was a "transit twilight in "Noo Yawkl",with somuch poised for extinction.

STILL do not know why the MTA did not set aside a set of 1938 "WF" cars for preservation; ditoo, a set of "Qs", restored to thier 1939 appearance.

and, of course, t least ONE of those "front sign that sticks out "Kramdens MOST CERTAINLY should have been saved.....
