Strange, indeed.........

With all the serious dlooding in and around "Noo Yawk" yesterday I did not hear ofany major subway disruptions, nor did I see any news footage of subway stations being tuned into raging waterfalls Question

Also, VERY ODD tghat, during the most recent heatwave, I heard of no "antiquated" transformer shaving hear-related issues, bor of any "R-211s" "passing out" from the extreme hear............ Question

Backin the 70s, SEPTA rebuilt a lone PCC with a/c; like the buses, the car featured am a/c unit (smaller than used on buses) over the rearwindows.

As this was a "one off", obviously the experiment wasn't all that successful, for whatever reason.

The boxy KAWASAKI LRVs would be the first a/c "streetcars"on "Philly", by the early 1980s..................

HAD the "Toid Avenuh Railway" operated cars post-1960 in Manhattan, would TARS still be privately owned and operated, or would it have been absorbed by the 'Tee-Yay", which,of course, DID operate streetcars in Brooklyn until 1956......................

"Hoid" him on 1010 WINS and saw him on Eyewitness News at 4 (thankfully, NOT wearing shorts!) talking about making sure that the subways keep running, and are not incapacitated by the heavy, frequent rain storms, and how "pumping facilities" with generators are at the ready in all five boroughs.

Perhaps, "Jan-OH!" should be consulting an older and wiser flood expert, one that also is quite adept at ship building....... Wink
