THe last TARS cars in "da Bronx" were indeed "TROLLEYS", as they used overhead wires; the cars that ran in Manhattan were more "STREETCARS", as they used underground conduits........

Recall, also, that one of the TARS lines up in "da Bronx" passed by the starely NYW&B station headhouse ar E. 180th Street, which today provides access to"Eye-Are-Tee" trains..........

Sobering thought..........
Given what "da Bronx" os like nowadays, I SHUDDER to think of how badly t hose charming old old TARS convertibles (none of which were saved,BTW), or any other rattan-seated streetcar, for that matter, would be trashed, en-route to their destinations....indeed, it was a far different area, back in the day, one far more conducive to public transit vehicles NOT being vandalized.....
