| That's one thing about baseball: It's NOT like a boxing match where, if an opponent is being beaten to a pulp beyond recognition, they end the fight early. I'd be with you but for the rule in MLB that all teams play 162 games in a season. |

W.B.:
Agreed.
And, in baseball, when a given team is being brutally 'moided", the bloodletting continues until the end of the fame.....

"Noo Yawk" baseball "nooze" for "Thoisday" (early edition)..........
One guess how the bruised and battered "AINOs" fared today.
Sure glad I am not aboard one of the homebound #7 trains this afternoon,
Again, let's mercifully end the 2026 season now, before the pain and humiliation continue unchecked.......

From 1010 WINS earlier (Scott Stanford)
".....the Mets are now the worst team in baseball.............."
Yeah, Scott, I think we are all pretty well aware of this, by now............

Conversely, 'Ka-nicker-bockers' fans are quite a contented lot of late, last night they walloped the Hawks to advance to the next round of the NBA playoffs. Which could only mean one thing: The animated "Globetrotters" were around . . . |

Alas, again unlike boxing, there's still the rest of the season, and unlike in boxing, when a team is shellacked in a game, they still have to finish in nine innings.
Still, it sounds like Mr. Stanford this morning was more like Major General Obvious (long promoted from Captain). |

W.B.:
Right now, I would love to see what the ol' Giants and (Brooklyn) Dodgers would do in today's volatile, often hapless and all-too-arrogant, topsy-turvy baseball world.....could be quite interesting, to see the least.....

"NooYawk" baseball "nooze" (late edition)..........
Though the game was indeed a "SQUEAKER", the Mets FINALLY WON a game!!!!!!! (another fluke?)
And, of course, the ever-arrogant, blustering, braggart "YINOs" won (again)
Well, for the "AINOs" these lean days, ANY win is indeed a valid reason for "Mr. Met" to grin his trademark grin.............

| And the neo-"Boulevardiers from the Bronx" (thinking of that cartoon) won YET AGAIN, once more satiating the "AYF's" appetite and bloodlust. Pray that, later tonight, the "AINO's" are able to overcome the bad karma they've had of late as they did last night. |

W.B.:
Like the neo-"Boulevadiers From Da Bronx" need to have their already overly-inflated egos inflated still more......Mets fans HAVE to be biting their nails tonight, especially that the "Yinos"won yet again.........

A "squeaker"and (another) loss for the 'AINOs"...............
Well, the ailing, floundering, battered, bashed, bruised, and cremated Mets just lost ANOTHER game........NOT surprising at all, that I've read of more than a few Mets fans are now throwing in the towel, totally disgusted.
Of course, the ever-vicious "AYF" brigade must really be in high gear, with the continual downfall of the team once known as "The Lovable Losers".......
End the 2026 season NOW.........mercifully put this battered and bashed team "on hold" until 2027............

"Noo Yawk" baseball "nooze" for Sunday...............
The "Miracle Mets" ACTUALLY pulled off a NIRACLE today......they actually WON a game!!!!!!
As for the ever-arrogant "YINOs", well, they are still on an extended, ego-inflating winning streak...........

Sad news..........
Heard on 1010 WINS earlier that legendary Yankee announcer John Sterling has passed away he was in his late 80s) due to complications from heart surgery.
Mr. Sterling called over 5,600 games, during his long and colorful career with "The Bronx Bombers"..
Indeed, IMHO, Mr. Sterling was the last true "vocal" link to the old days.....RIP, Mr. Sterling.......you leave a great void that can never be filled......
(1010 WINS reporter Glenn Shuck also reported that Mr. Sterling called every one of "The Captain's" games, during his years with the "Bombers")

Wonder if this has justified Howie Rose's decision to call it a career as Mets' announcer after this season. At least Sterling didn't croak while at the mic . . . but yeah, another link to a bygone era has come to an end, and then some. |

And the years fly by all too quickly..........
Most of us take a "legend" for granted, until their passing; I know many echo these sentiments over the passing of the legendary Yankee announcer John Sterling...............
"NYO"
BTW:
ABC World News just ran m excellent tribute to the late Mr. Sterling, showing him in action during some of his most memorable calls, through the years.
