I have a hard time fantasizing with PE wanting out of the passenger business and LAMTA wanting to be rid of the rails.

Let's just say, that, as soon as the War ended, the PR and LATL were both gearing up for the eventual elimination of ALL rai llines, local, suburban, interurban.

It was "pro bus" all the weay, during those years.

On the flip side, think of how many former PE/LATL/LAMC bus routes no longer exist today...........

Interestingly, many routes continued into the SCRTD era. However, I haven't studied the current routes to see if any still exist. Some examples were the PE Venice Short Line, Long Beach Line, and the San Bernardino and Riverside lines. As for LARy lines, I'm sure there are others but I remember the Route 26 bus line that replaced the P car line because I rode it frequently.
