You have to wonder........
At some point in the near-term, will the "Pee-Yay" decide restructure/rebuild the "Toity-Toid" Street station's interlocking/infrastructure?
Of so, I have the feeling that the outcome will be quite like that at Hoboken, some months back........

Whichever world McAdoo is now, he's slapping his head with the palm of his hand and wondering what became of his "baby." |

Agreed.
Today's PATH indeed is not the pioneering, trans-Hudson rapid transit system, where "THE PUBLIC BE PLEASED" was taken LITERALLY by management and operating personell.....that was a long, long time ago, for certain......

No, the "Pea-Yay" management's attitude is thousands of miles removed from that which McAdoo cultivated and encouraged. They even look down on anyone taking photos, from what I've heard. |

Agreed; for some strange reason, PATH personell seem to "take issue" with photographers, and this has been going or for decades.
Your's Truly once had an encounter with a snotty, arrogant, young "Pee-Yay"cop, over making TAPE RECORDINGS of the trains (particularly the retired" Black" cars that were on hand) at JSQ.(this was about 1978)
While nothing came of it,iktwas unpleasant enough that I wisely stayed clear of JSQ for some weeks afterwards (I DID get some good photos over the years, though, by great good luck)
In Theodor Scull's,"THE STATEN ISLAND FERRY", he made the following comment:
".....for some reason unknown to me,, some SIRT employees don't like photographers......."
Last SIRT photos I ever took were back in 1985 and 1987 (St.George and Tottenville)
Thankfully,I never encountered any surly "Em-Tee-Yay" vigilante.......
