We'll see.

They "soitainly" won't do construction work while "da snow" is still out there, for sure . . .

....not to mention the ongoing sub-zero "real feel" temps, more conducive to the comfort of "Mr. Popper's Penguins"........ Wink

Latest..........

Just gleaned this info online...........

"NEW BUS STORAGE/STAGING AREA"

(9th-10th Avenues, between 39th & 40th Streets)

Will serve as temporary terminal after present facility closes

5 levels of bus storage
-------------------------------------------------------
"NEW RAMP STRUCTURE"

(Gavin Plaza, west of 9th Avenue)

Indeed,it will be quite interesting to observe the progress of the demolition/construction work taking place, over the next several years.........

Further........

Another aspect of this massive project will be the re-assignment of the buses to their respective "temporary" gates (of course, "En-Jay-Tee" will be the dominate player, here)

It will also be interesting to see the layout and positioning of the temporary arrival and departure platforms, as well as the waiting areas, ticketing facilities, etc.........

I am sure "En-Jay-Tee" wil be issuing "please allow extra time for your trip"notices to its TTs, once the real demolition/construction work gets underway...........

Walking along Eighth Avenue yesterday, I saw a sign up on the 42nd Street side of the "monstrosity" posing as a bus terminal proclaiming the building of "Your Bus Terminal of the Future." Besides being a "TINO," when I saw that slogan I couldn't help but think of The Honeymooners episode where Ralph and Norton did a TV commercial and the former was the "Chef of the Future."

W.B.:

One indeed wonders what Ralph would make of today's MTA "BINO" fleet; something is telling me thsat he MIGHT just be MORE than taken aback,by the mere sight of slithering, robotic caterpillars!Wink

Things were indeed a LOT more "normal", back in the days when he was still "briving a duss".....(!!) Wink

"NYO"

BTW:

What is going on, demolition/construction-wise, with the current terminal project?

From what I see, the current "toiminal" is still standing, no hint of parts being sealed off to demolish it.
