Was MORE than VERY FORTUNATE to come across this OUTSTANDING page on the historic Toronto Coach Terminal' this massive facility was indeed a true architectural MASTERPIECE; MANY photos of not only the building itself (interior and exterior), but also, many vintage photos of the BUSES themselves (including GREYHOUND!) throughout the years (also, TTC streetcars!)
THIS was BUS TRAVEL at its FINEST!!!
Be sure to note the lavish use of stained glass; one window adorned with the insignia for "GRAY COACH LINES"!
TAKE THE TIME to go through all of the many historic photos!

You, myself, and any other self-respecting "classic era" bus enthusiast/historian!
Like most of today's ultra-modern, hi-tech buses, the modern terminals are cold, soulless, and bland, with as much appeal as a modern shopping mall; and without even the faintest hint of style or attractiveness.......

While we are still "north of the border"......
Seldom is the history of intercity bus travel in Alaska discussed; here is an excellent page with multiple links, featuring interesting history, articles, photos, etc....enjoy!

While the terminal building itself was a neat classic, I was never a fan of the lane style bus loading ramps, with one bus behind another, and passengers crossing between buses.
I much prefer the 'sawtooth' style loading docks...
The PABT has both types, although passengers don't cross between them, they go up or down to the suburban concourse from each pull thru platform...

From the many hundreds of vintage bus terminal photos I've seen over the years, it would indeed seem that the "sawtooth" arrangement was more than commonplace, back in the day.
Then, too, were the totally unique facilities like the Dixie Hotel terminal in Manhattan, where the buses (as you of course already know) pulled into their respective "slots" after a quick trip on the turntable.....
