EXCELLENT PHOTOS!!!!!!!!!!!
The Old Look (#7311) in the last photo looks to be in a different paint scheme than what I've seen on various early postwar PS buses.
In b/w, bus reminds me somewhat of Chicago.
It is also interesting to note that, after ASV operation ended in 1947/1948, a small number of YELLOWS had their electrical gear removed and operated as "straight" gas buses until they were retired a few years later.
ASV operation ended on the HUDSON Division in 1947; operations on the ESSEX Division ended the following year, 1948.
PSNJ invested heavily in the 4509 after the War, purchasing a large number.
The experimental (D900) one-of-a-kind diesel-electric ASV (which underwent testing in 1950 in Montclair) was a modified 4509, which, after testing, was converted into a "straight" diesel, operating on the ESSEX and HUDSON Divisions until it was retired sometime around 1969.
Again, EXCELLENT photos!!!!
