| In the mail today, I got the 1958 Buffalo Transit Company bus schedule that I won on eBay recently. Front cover design features a stylized GMC "old look" bus with driver and passengers and signed A-ABBOTT ROAD-HAMBURG, a format used by Buffalo Transit at that time. They switched to the format used by NFT when NFT bought that company from Jerry Campbell and his wife Marge, who also owned Jamestown Motor Bus Company (NY) about which I would like to know more. I have been after BTC schedules for a long time and lo and behold finally snagged one. There is a heavy duty truck parts and servicing outfit located at 200 Broadway, once the home of Buffalo Transit Company, and Grand Island Transit Corporation after that. A printing outfit takes up part of the building, too. Greyhound,Gray Coach, and Canada Coach Lines used to layover buses at that location, which had servicing fa cilities for their buses between trips. |
