Don't look now, but "doze squeakers" are losing to "Dee-troit" by the same score the "Amazin's are losing to "Fil-lee" - 7-2. That should deflate some of the air out of "AYF's," should "doze tin men from da Bronx" lose . . .

It's "MOIDUH" I TELL YA! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Man, the Mets have REALLY hit the skids, as of late (NO WIN in a WEEK!).......UNLESS the "Miracle Mets" can (somehow) pull of a MAJOR miracle soon, IMHO, I don't see them making the post season. Sad

Man, "doze squeakers" are getting BRUTALIZED up in "da Bronx"! Shocked

Looks like neither "Uncle Hoiman" nor "Katnip" made it in from Brooklyn (CBTC issues, again?) Razz

Well, at the VERY LEAST, the ever-rabid "AYF" brigade WON'T be sneering at Mets' latest loss this evening.....(!!) Wink

Well, it's "confoimed" that the air was very much let out of the tires of the "AYF" brigade, as "doze squeakers" were very much "moiderlized" by "Dee-troit."

W.B.:

Now.....let's see what transpires later this evening.

One cannot help but wonder what kind of a team today's "squeakers" would make, if "The Cap'n" was in charge. Wink

As to the Mets, when they hit a ROUGH PATCH, man, they DO NOT fool around! Sad

Then again, not all that long ago, recall when "doze squeakers" were losing game after game, and Mr. Boone was burning WHITE HEAT?

How quickly the "AYF" brigade forgets.......Shocked

BOTH "Noo Yawk" teams are being "MOIDULIZED"!!!!!! as I type these "woids" Shocked Shocked

Both "doze squeakers" and the Amazins' are getting POUNDED (again!!!!) Shocked Shocked Shocked (guess "Uncle Hoiman" and "Katnip" again were faced with CNTC issues, trying to get up to "da Bronx"!)

The ONLY positive note here is that, at the very least, the ever-ravif "AYF" brigade won't be lording it over the Mets fans, tonight! Rolling Eyes

Man, talk about "Noo Yawk" on "da skidz"!! Razz

While Mr. "Alllll-Riiiiiiise" a.k.a. "The Judge," in hitting his 359th homer, surpassed a true "iron man" - Yogi Berra - for 5th all-time in the history of "doze squeakers' " franchise.

Wonder how Bill Ritter will handle this . . .

W.B.:

Comparing Mr, Judge with Yogi Berra would be like (IMHO) comparing a TDH-4512 to a "BINO". Razz

I was also thinking about Bill Ritter, and how he reacted to this "nooze", even though "doze squeakers" were (again!) PULVERIZED.....(!!) Shocked

Actually, it would be like comparing ANY "Kramden" to a "BINO." Remember, after the TDH-4509 (the last of which was ordered by "Nye-Koh" in 1951), none of the "Noo Yawk" companies (nor the "Bee O'Tee" or successor "Tee-Yay") that ordered buses from "Gee-Em" would ever again order a 35-foot bus, plunging into the 40-foot realm with first the TDH-5104 and then TDH-5106. (We could even include the "Fackle" and "Ess-Tee" buses of 1958-59 with the protruding front signs in that list.) Of course, "The Little Red Bus That Could" in those days were still ordering "Pattons" - and the comparisons of the likes of Judge to Berra would also be like comparing a C-45DT or C-49DT to today's "BINO's." (And as his career is going on, it'd be a stretch for him to approach Mickey Mantle's numbers - another "Iron Man," especially given his bum knee and lifestyle.)

Once again, this loss should make "AYF's" more humble. But, knowing their nature, it won't . . .

If this is consolation, even though both were CLOBBERED (the opposing teams each scoring 11 runs), the "Amazin's" had more runs than the "tin men" from "da Bronx."

W.B.:

Again, CANNOT FATHOM how ANYONE could compare the legendary "Iron Man" Yogi Berra to "squeaker" Aaron Judge.......I mean, COME ON!!!!! Mad

Both today's DAILY NEWS and NY POST had QUITE a bit to say after last night's double-bombing of BOTH "Noo Yawk" teams............

"PATHETIC! METS, YANKEES, BOTH EMBARRASSED, AGAIN; PLAYING THEIR WORST iN HEAT OF PLAYOFF CHASE"

"FORMER BOMBER BREAKS SCORELESS TIE BEFORE DETROIT TOLLS TO ANOTHER BLOWOUT VICTORY IN THE BRONX"

"METS FALL BEHIND BY 10 GAMES IN EAST, CLING TO FINAL PLAYOFF SPOT"

Yeah, it's sure been pretty UGLY, as of late....... Sad

Yeah, "doze squeakers" are "Bombers" all right - in the Grumman 870 sense, that is . . .

As to the "Amazin's" "cling[ing] to [the] final playoff spot" . . . almost like survivors of a shipwreck clinging to the lifeboats, no?

And yes, while "The Judge" surpassed a record set by Yogi, yes, there are no comparisons whatsoever. Also, on the underground, like comparing a "Broadway Battleship" to a "Bronto." Or the ME-1's to the new "Staten Island Rattlers." Or a "Lo-V" to a "Jeter-bug."

Yogi's family spoke out about "The Judge's" passing Berra on the home runs list . . .

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/yogi-berra-s-family-responds-after-judge-passes-him-on-yankees-hr-list/ar-AA1MiNVP?ocid=msedgntp&pc=U531&cvid=68c335e358d843beaf4c336fd37eeb1e&ei=21

But, like you and I said . . . like a "BINO" or a "Jeter-bug" or a "Staten Island Rattler," Mr. "Allll-Riiiiiise" is, in the larger scheme of things . . .

W.B.:

Appreciate the link; thanks! Wink

IMHO, the sad thing is, that, with so little history being taught in schools (and not much interest in history these days, anyway) you DO have to wonder how many of today's younger generation even KNOW of Berra...OR Gherig.....or MANTLE.....or Maris...or, even "The Bambino"......

Comparing an "Iron Man" from the "Golden Age of New York Baseball" to ANY of today's hapless "players", would be like comparing the the original Pennsylvania Station to a prefab "Amshack". Sad

Again, I firmly believe that "The Cap'n" was the VERY LAST of the "Iron Men" who played for the "Bombers"...........

Interesting....

On Eyewitness News at 6, anchor Bill Ritter was on hand; NOT ONE of his trademark "AllllllRiiiiissse!" interjections was heard, as Ryan Field went to great lengths to share the news of just how dire things are for both "doze squeakers" and the "Amazins".........gee, I wonder why? Rolling Eyes

Speaking of "dire," the "Amazin's" lost again, swept by "Fil-lee." They limp back to their home "toif" tomorrow for a series against the Texas Rangers.

Meanwhile, "AYF's" are poised to once again rub it all in Mets' fans' faces. Yep, "doze squeakers" are winning. And not in a "squeaker," indicating that somehow, "Uncle Hoiman" and "Katnip" made it to the 'Stadium' [sic]. Of course, tomorrow, the "tin men" will start a series against "Bah-ston." After shattering the Red Sox' winning streak against them, though, there's no knowing what'll happen.

*EDIT:* Yep, "doze squeakers" won it.

W.B.:

Just learned of the latest Mets bloodshed online; the team HAS TO BE "coyced"! Sad

NOW, of course, the "AYF" brigade will TOTALLY FORGET how POORLY "doze squeakers" have been doing as of late, and go GUNG-HO on the Mets fans (dang, was hoping for a Mets victory tonight!) Sad

And, if the Mets don't make the postseason, but "doze squeakers" do........sheesh, it's gonna be OPEN SEASON on EACH and EVERY Mets fan, and it ain't gonna be pretty. Sad

Dang, I REALLY thought the Amazins' were FINALY roar back tonight...... Sad
