"FRIDAY THE 13TH AND THE 'NOO YAWK' TEAMS"........
Courtesy of Ryan Field (Eyewitness News at 6)..........
Since the last Friday the 13th, both the Yankees and the Mets are clearly haunted; they have been in self-destruct mode since then,
The Mets are now the third-worst team in the League, whle "doze squeakers from da Bronx" are now the WORST team in the League.
It IS all QUITE scary, to say the very least........

"Noo Yawk" baseball "booze" for Monday........
Well, "doze squeakers from da Bronx" DID actually WIN tonight, the reasons being:
1:
"Uncle Hoiman" and "Katnip" were BOTH up in "da Bronx" for the game (no CBTC issues on the #4!)
2:
Mr. Boone got down on his hands and knees before the game and PLEASED with his "tin men' get their act together.
3:
"Doze tin men" were afraid they, personally, would be held responsible if Mr. Boone popped a blood vessel, if they lost again.
Will they be victorious the NEXT game?
Or, was tonight's game but a "fluke"?
Right now, It's anyone's guess, for sure........

| Meanwhile, as to the "Amazin's," it should be noted that Atlanta has a losing record. But then, there were days when the most "palooka" teams whupped the Mets. Sad, but true . . . |

It was "da Braves," actually, though I can understand the confusion, as from 1953 to 1965 they played in Milwaukee where today the Brewers are. Nonetheless, Atlanta is way in the loss column.
But "doze squeakers from da Bronx" also came alive and then some tonight, totally "moiderlizing" "Minnie-Soda." Not only did Boone no doubt put the fear of G-d in his "tin men" players, evidently "Uncle Hoiman" and "Katnip" made it a point of coming regardless of whatever "See-Bee-Tee-See" issues were out and about (they may have travelled via the "D" train just in case). In any case, as BOTH "Noo Yawk" teams played at home, ecstatic fans filed the subways near both "ballparks in name only" (out in "da Bronx," that would mean BOTH the #4 and the "D").

I was thinking the SAME thing; a combination of Mr. Boone (literally) putting the dear of God into his beleagured "tin men", PLUS having both "Uncle Hoiman" AND "Katnip" up in "da Bronx" this evening, indeed seemed to "do the trick"!
Now....let's see if the "Miracle Mets" can pull off another "Miracle" tomorrow!

WHAT A NIGHT IN QUEENS!!!!!!!!
NOT ONLY did the Amazin' "Noo Yawk" Mets FINALLY snap their ongoing losing streak, they STOMPED their opponents flat........AND, if that wasn't enough, Pete "The Polar Bear" Alonso broke Darryl Strawberry's long-standing record and is now the new "Home Run King" for the Amazins!!

"PUT IT IN THE BOOKS!"
"PETE HITS No.253 TO PASS STRAW AS METS HR KING!"

Front page of the NEW YORK POST:
""KING OF QUEENS!"
"ALONSO HITS 253rd HR TO BREAK METS ALL-TIME RECORD"
Back page:
"BEAR FORCE ONE!"
Man, the bars and pubs in Manhattan and Queens must have been JUMPING last night!
Must have been a REAL PARTY on board those #7 trains last night, for sure!!
And, to think, only a few days ago, the Mets were deep in the tank....talk about a RIP-ROARIN' COMEBACK!!!!!

| So far, both "Noo Yawk" teams are "on hold" whilst the rains are a-comin' hard and fast. We'll see what it does to their performance should the games go on in a delay. |

Let's hope so. But then, in some cases, rain could become a "coyce" all its own. |

I would have to agree with you there; a rain-out for both teams would result in their playing double-headers on Thursday..........
(Thought: will doze "tin men" up in "da Bronx" rust out in da rain, tonight, I wonder?)

They're playing - but so far, the "Amazin's" are once again slaughtering "da Braves," whilst neither team in "doze squeakers' " current match are on the scoreboard.
*EDIT*: Were. So far "doze squeakers" are leading in - you guessed it - a squeaker.
**EDIT #2**: Now it's tied. Cross your fingers.
***EDIT #3***: Now the Mets are the ones being "moiderlized." "It's moider, I tell ya'!" |

W.B.:
Looks like BOTH "Noo Yawk" teams are gonna LOSE tonight.
WHAT happened with the Mets, ESPECIALLY after last night's AWE-INSPIRING game??
(well at least, "The Polar Bear" caused QUITE a sensation last night, breaking "The Straw's" old HR record)
As for "doze squeakers from da Bronx", looks like Mr. Boone didn't bring any "WD-40" or "3-in-1" to tonight's game.......and, I guess "Uncle Hoiman" AND "Katnip", fearing CBTC issues on the #4, decided to cut out early.
Man, "Noo Yawk" baseball has seen more ups and downs than the elevators at the IND's 190th Street station.........

Also looks like the rains may have made BOTH "Noo Yawk" teams rusty, given how both lost BIG. But what you said about Boone not bringing any of those formulae . . . |
