Could someone help me with which model Orion this bus is? Is it CNG or hybrid? Many thanks. Joe McMahon

mycbusfan,

I know that the experts are going to get me on this one if I'm wrong but I have always assumed that the large enclosure over the roof was a natural gas storage tank for 'CNG' operation.

Usually, you will see the blue diamond shapped 'CNG' sticker both in front and back, but there is none visible in this shot.

I'd love to know what the legend over the passenger windows says.

nybusfan and Mr Linsky,
Many thanks for your help, as it shows the value of this message board. How wrong I was to guess Orion! Thanks to the correction, I was able to look up the New Flyer site and see the specs on a C40LF. Along the side, above the windows, is a slogan like "This is a clean-air bus." I should have recognized that the slogan made no reference to "electric" or "hybrid."

Here's another shot of a WMATA New Flyer C40LF

WMATA's Orion VII CNG have the same banner

...and here's what they do on their New Flyer DE40LF & DE40LFR
