A Yellow Coach model 718 acquired in 1935.
Assigned to the 100 Street Garage.
By December 1950 this bus was assigned to route 19 96th Street Crosstown.

Great photo and interesting information. Had to look up the Madison Avenue Coach Company to see what it was!

Funny, #1 and 2 were administered under the Madison Avenue Coach umbrella, and #10 and 11 were under Eighth Avenue Coach Corporation - yet on maps, all were considered NYCO. Both "subsidiaries" were created out of various lawsuits and stockholder challenges, not to be resolved until late 1951 when they were all "merged" under the NYCO branding. I've seen a few photos of early Yellow buses on the #1 or 2 route which were branded "Eighth Avenue Coach Corporation," and one pic of the #17 - 79th Street Crosstown where the sides said "Madison Avenue Coach Company, Inc."

Those 718's must've been all retired by the time NYCO changed its name on June 1, 1956 to Fifth Avenue Coach Lines, Inc., no?

That paint scheme, meanwhile, must've been that 718's second.
