Back to reality, folks............ Sad

After winning their FIRST game in days last evening, the Mets (guess what?) just lost tonight's game. Sad

Meanwhile, The "Bombers" are poised to win 8 games in a row.

As far as the Mets are concerned, both management AND players are indeed in dire need of some sort of serious "motivation".....the current situation is so pathetic now, you cannot even laugh about it......... Sad

.........well, at least the Mets have company tonight (for a change)....the Yankees-poised to win their 8th straight game-ended up snapping their 7-game winning string earlier this evening.

And so it goes..........

A fervent plea to the "Powers That Be".............

PLEASE end the 2024 baseball season TONIGHT.

All of the fun and enjoyment of rooting for New York's own baseball "underdogs" has evaporated like an early-morning mist.

The "Comeback Kids" have been sinking more and more into a bullpen quagmire, from which there seems to be little hope of escaping.

Indeed, my friends, the "Amazins" are indeed "amazin'".......can they possibly win MORE than four or five games a month?

Yes, fellows, the Mets LOST ONCE AGAIN (WORST of all, they BLEW a pretty decent lead!)

The Yankees have had their ups and downs this season, to be sure, but they are playing FAR, FAR better (and winning far more games) then the Mets.

I have heard that even many of the most die-hard Mets fans are now getting pretty ticked (and, who can blame them?)

For the astronomical money these players make, and for what their grossly-overpaid higher-ups make, they should be winning at least several games in a row, on a regular basis.

Inept?

Lackadistical?

Hapless?

Lazy?

Unfocused?

Take yer pick, gentlemen!

A radio sports anchor earlier stated flat-out that the Mets are now wishing they still didn't have a slew of upcoming games to plunder through, until the 2024 season mercifully ends.

Literally, they are deep in the hole......BIG time.

So, what else is new?

It's gotten to the point where it is almost a given that the Mets will lose their next game.....and their next........SOMEBODY please put these guys out of their extended misery (or, at least, give them one helluva reality check)

What a sad, inane, farce.

Meanwhile, on the flip side, the Yankees are now running full-tilt like gangbusters, with multiple wins to their credit.................

Bad as the Mets may be, no-one, in terms of utter futility, would top the 1899 Cleveland Spiders. Unless they're racing for that bottom, too . . .

"....the Mets....Aye-yi-yi, the Mets. Yep, they lost again........."

The game had been tied at one point, and, after that, well, you know how it all went down......again............. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Ain't even a joke, any more............ Razz

OK, it WAS a "squeaker" for the Mets, but, hey, a WIN is a WIN, these days! Wink

NOW......let's see how things go in their next game........ Rolling Eyes

For a change, a LOT of VERY happy Mets fans jamming the #7 "Eye-Are-Tee" trains, heading home............ Wink

W.B.:

On "EYEWITNESS NEWS" last evening, I learned that the Mets had lost 12 of their last 15 games (pretty damn embarrassing!)

Regarding "Noo Yawk" hockey, the Rangers have really been "firing up the ice" (as Stan Fischler would say!) as of late, and MIGHT just clinch the coveted Stanley Cup; fans in Central Park were going NUTS when they found out the "Blue Shirts" beat Florida! Wink

Let's hope they get farther in the quest for the Stanley Cup than the Knicks, at the end, did en route to the NBA Finals . . .

W.B.:

Agreed, 100%.

There indeed will be a LOT of ECSTATIC Rangers fans here in "Noo Yawk", if the "Blue Shirts" complete the journey to the fabled Stanley Cup! Very Happy

Watching the Rangers play on the tube (man, these guys zip along the ice faster than the "Bee-Em-Tee's" sleek "Bluebird"! indeed dictates to all that these guys HAVE to have lightning-quick reflexes. for certain!

"Fire On Ice", indeed! (thank you, Stan Fischler!)

Interesting.......

When the first hockey (and basketball) games were played at the new "Garden", the LIRR still had a good number of veteran MP-54s in their fleet (and, of course, the famed double-deck/bilevel MUs), and the overall transit scene in "Noo Yawk" was indeed a LOT more varied, interesting, diverse (and SAFE)

Still had some "Shermans" and "Pattons" cavorting around back then, as well..........Wink

Now......let's see how the Mets do in today's outing (first pitch 4:10pm)........ Rolling Eyes
