Earlier on "Eyewitness News", as the Accuweather report was just beginning, there was a view of the harbor, looking towards the Narrows.
My eyes caught the MASSIVE bulk of an inbound cruise ship passing under the VZ Bridge.
Even though, I know, a camera's perspective and lenses can "distort" an image, it was QUITE obvious that this was one HUGE ship (sure looked like there wasn't too much room to spare, between the topmost deck of the ship, and the underside of the VZ's lower roadway!)
The immense, hulking "bulk" of these massive ships never ceases to boggle my mind!

Unfortunately the bigger the ship, the bigger the issues making reservations for dining and entertainment. |

I have sailed on the "Symphony of the Seas", at the time I sailed, it was the world's largest, and although it is huge, it has sufficient venues to handle everyone. The variety of dining and entertainment variety, is fantastic!

You've brought up a VERY valid point, for certain.
Interesting (on a sidenote) that the "BARBERI"-class ferries on the Staten Island run are licensed to carry 6,000 passengers.
At the time they entered service, over 40 years ago, these massive ferryboats boasted the LARGEST passenger-carrying capacity of ANY ship in the WORLD, beating out even the largest liner/cruise ship of that time!
Only in "Noo Yawk".........

"ALLURE OF THE SEAS" (OASIS-class)*........
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allure_of_the_Seas
When the "OASIS"-class entered service in 2018, they had the distinction of being the largest cruise ships in the world.........
*These huge ships have retractable funnels, used when passing under bridges!

"SEAJETS"* is a Greek-Cypriot ferry company which operates both passenger and cargo vessels (some interesting photos on this page!)

*Note that this company has also acquired several cruise ships......... |
