When the NFTA Metrobus system began operation, the initial divisional set up was as follows; BUFFALO city: BROADWAY -BAILEY (ex IRC car barn) Routes: 1-William,2-Clinton,4-Broadway,6-Sycamore,15-Seneca,15-South Park,19-Bailey,24-Genesee,27-Ridge Road,31-South Buffalo,35-Hamburg via Abbott,36-Hamburg via South Park, 14-Abbott,37-Hamburg via Camp,38-Angola-Lotus Bay.
COLD SPRING DIVISION (Also an ex IRC carbarn at Main and Michigan):7-Baynes-Richmond, 8-Main,9-Parkside-Zoo, 10-West Utica,12-East Utica, 13-Kensington, 18-Jefferson,21-Michigan-Forest,22-Porter-Best,23-Fillmore-Hertel (some buses also coming out of Frontier Division as well),29-Wohlers,40-Grand Island,44-Lockport,26-Delavan,and 32-Amherst
FRONTIER DIVISION: Kenmore at Military: 3-Grant,5-Niagara,11-Colvin,20-Elmwood,25-Delaware,30-Kenmore-River Road,33-Tonawanda-North Tonawanda.
LOCKPORT-58 Lockport City route only
NIAGARA FALLS; all Niagara Falls City Routes
Most of the surviving ex Buffalo Transit Company buses were concentrated at the Cold Spring and Broadway-Bailey Division. When Metrobus was still operating the stickshift buses inherited from D&F Transit, Grand Island Transit, and Lockport Bus Lines, the ex Lockport and Grand Island buses all operated out of the Cold Spring Division, while the ex D&F Transit PD4106s were alls assigned to Broadway-Bailey. Ex Grand Island buses were SDM5302 No.104, S8M5303A No.114, and SDM4501s 166 and 168, the ex Lockport PD4104s were all numbered with a 2 prefixing e ach bus;s Lockport Bus Lines fleet number, such as 48 becoming 248 to name an example. The SDM5302 was later converted to a 6V71 and automatic transmission as was 114, this was to harmonize these two buses with the rest of the fishbowl fleet.
