In Massapequa, Long Island, the Central Avenue library opens at 9 a.m. Often when I visit there, I see an Adirondack Trailways pick-up. The bus travels Sunrise Highway and makes a small loop to the stop at the corner of Central and Grand Avenues. Usually there are three or four passengers, but today Provost 62973 carried only one passenger and had nobody waiting.
-----
The destination sign reads "Albany," which it reaches at 3:20 pm. The other day, I asked a driver where the run picked up the most passengers. He replied, "Hempstead and Queens Village."
The buses appear to be in top condition, and the drivers look sharp in a neat uniform.

Continuing the Massapequa story: This Sunday afternoon, about 2:45 p.m. Pine Hill Trailways picked up one passenger in Massapequa with MCI 72919. No destination sign, probably Kingston or Albany. |
