Note: 1991 Centro 05.501 #540 has had a special seating configuration for years with additional wheelchair tiedowns - looks like it's going to be around for a while longer yet:

WTVH-5 - Specialized Centro Bus (includes video link)

A newly renovated Centro bus was a big hit with special needs football fans Saturday. The bus is used for special events. Today it transported football fans from South Campus to the Carrier Dome. Bus number 540 is the only Centro bus in the fleet with room for seven wheelchairs. Most of the buses only have space for two or three wheelchairs. The bus is 16 years old. Most Centro buses are retired after 12 or 13 years. Centro officials say this bus is so unique it was worth investing $100,000 in. Syracuse football fan Jeffrey Parelli was in a car accident six months ago and is recovering in a wheelchair. He said, "They make it wonderful, they had a power lift, they brought us in and strapped us in and we're all set." The Carrier Corporation played a big part in these renovations. Carrier donated a new air conditioning system worth $24,000. Other renovations include a new lift and seats. Centro officials say all these renovations should keep the bus in service for many more years to come.

The only other agency that I know of that did something similar was MTA Maryland, when they did something similar to an 8800 (or, possibly and 8900)-series Flxible.
