That Texas company was totally unrelated to the New Jersey company.
I am surprised that the Trailways association permitted a new member (believe the NJ one), to use a similar name as an existing member???

traildriver:

Your posting only further re-enforced the doubts I had myself, regarding "ARROW".

As I said previously, I can still remember a number of times, seeing "ARROW TRAILWAYS" Fishbowls some 40-odd years ago; that the one bus in the photo shows the bus signed for a DE CAMP route (#32) makes it even more of a mystery............. Rolling Eyes

"NYO"

Three generations of "Boulevard" buses running on the JSQ-PABT "5" are depicted here; WHITE, GM (Fishbowl), and Flex "Dangerfield".

Note all three sport a "5" number card in the windshield, a practice that lasted several decades......,

Even with those type buses, the divide among roll sign makers was evident.

#153651 shows a Trans-Lite roll sign on the front of that Fishbowl.

Both #153618 and #156760 are witness to Transign's handiwork on the top front.

W.B.:

Yet again, here is another example of what made the bus hobby so interesting, back in the day.

Speaking of roll signs, now that the faithful, long-lived R-32 "Brightliners" have been retired, this leaves the shiny R-68 "Hippos" as the only subway cars in service in "Noo Yawk" still using roll signs.....

The R-68, the very last "Noo Yawk" subway cars to have roller curtains.....

Recall, also, the old, now-long gone SIRT roller sign boxes at the entrance to each platform at the St. George terminal.....

*Interestingly, though the R-44's on the SIRT were equipped with roller curtains, the old ME-1's were never so equipped.

In fact, when the "Tee-Yay" purchased a group of surplus SIRT cars in the early 50's (for BMT service) old metal destination plates, rescued from scrapped elevated cars, were installed)

Here's a train of refurbished SIRT ME-1 cars on the BMT's Culver Line; note the old metal sign plates that originally were used in wooden El cars.....

Seems to me that "CONEY ISLAND"* could have been centered here; wasted space, IMHO.....

And as was noted in various subway books, Trans-Lite supplied the original roll signs for these babies.
