Out of these three medium-duty low floor buses, does anyone have any experiences with any of these three models and how do they compare? I have never experienced an Optima Opus or a Blue Bird Ultra LF. I know that the Optima Opus currently has the most market share out of the three, and the SLF200 is no longer in production, however, I would like to know a comparison between the three models.

I have somewhat of a mixed opinion on the SLF200. ABQ RIDE operates 35 SLF232 CNG buses and one SLF235 diesel bus. The diesel SLF235 runs great. However, the CNG SLF232s are somewhat of an embarrasment. They feature slow acceleration, wobbly suspension, and they break down frequently.

I'm going to venture a guess that the Opus is probably the best of the three, although I'm no expert.

You'd also need to include the El Dorado EZ-Rider II in this group, as it's a comparable vehicle.

Out of the three, I know that the Opus is the only one available in a diesel-electric hybrid variant, while only the other two (the Blue Bird Ultra LF and the Thomas SLF200) have been offered in CNG. As I stated, the SLF200 CNG is not a very good bus, while the diesel versions run fairly well.
