What make/model of bus is this? It's probably from the early 1940's.

Just a guess...not sure, but it resembles some Ford Transit buses of that era...

Fellows:

Indeed, that is a FORD.

Into the mid-1950's, PSNJ rostered a number of FORDS, mostly used on the more lightly-traveled lines.

Most were scrapped, but some were sold to several Hudson County-area "indy" companies, upon disposal by PS.

PS drivers were not fond of them during the winter, as their heating was inadequate, and the driver's area was always cold during the winter months.......

Thank you!

Are there model numbers for these buses?

Unit2345:

You are quite welcome; glad to have been of help, even if it's not all that much! Wink

If you do some on-line research (photos, etc.), you'll see that numerous companies around the country once used FORDS, especially on shuttle lines and the more lightly-traveled routes.

BTC (Baltimore) once operated FORDS, as did LARy (Los Angeles)

In Baltimore, the BTC ordered 100 27-passenger FORDS for lightly-traveled lines in 1946; these buses were not popular in Baltimore, and began being phased out within only a few years of entering service.

Detroit was another city that once operated FORDS.....

In this colorful photo from the late 1940's (taken at the PE's San Bernadino station), note the FORD sporting National City Lines' "fruit salad" paint; also, note the WHITE in PE red........
