WJAR-TV reported yesterday morning that RIPTA is retiring its CNG-powered 2000-2001 Chance AH-28 replica trolleys because they are "getting old" and are difficult to maintain. |

Are they replacing the fake trolleys with anything or simply discontinuing the "Providence Link" services altogether?
They should replace them with Gillig Advantage fake trolleys -- that would be convenient, given RIPTA's recent order of standard Advantages. |

I'm not sure about the routes themselves; the news report only said the trolleys were going. The Link routes had good ridership when they were introduced, but I don't know if that has held up.
If the ridership numbers can hold their own without fake trolleys to lure people, they should just put regular Advantages on the routes and save the money. |
