The MTA came out with a draft of a redesign of the Bronx bus network. Many routes will change route-wise, and some will not. Stop consolidation (removing some stops to speed up buses) is happening for just about every route, but it does not seem to be on a large scale.

A summary of the route changes proposed. If the route is not listed, then there is no change proposed:


    Bx4A: Westchester Square 6 station to Simpson Street 2/5 station; no more service to 3 Avenue-149 Street 2/5 station.
    Bx6 SBS: Riverside Drive extended to Turnbull/Pugsley Avenuess via Story Avenue; no more service to Hunts Point.
    Bx8: Williamsbridge to Layton/Dean Avenues; no more service to Throggs Neck/Locust Point.
    Bx11: Washington Heights extended to Parkchester 6 station via Boston Road and 174 Street; no more service to Simpson Street 2/5 station and no more detour on Ogden/Plimpton Avenues (will go directly on Edward Grant Highway).
    Bx15: Fordham to 3 Avenue-149 Street 2/5 station; no more service to Manhattan (Manhattan section to be replaced by new M125 route).
    Bx18: High Bridge to Morris Heights Circulator, with new section via 168 Street and Shakespeare Avenue; will have clockwise and counter-clockwise services.
    *Bx23: No actual route changes, but service would increase because of cuts to Q50 and other Co-Op lines.
    Bx24: Hutchinson Metro Center to Throggs Neck/Locust Point via Stadium Avenue and old Bx8 route; Country Club route would be straighten out completely via Stadium Avenue.
    Bx26: Harris Park/Bedford Park Boulevard to Asch Loop in Co-Op City; no more service to Erskine Place.
    Bx28: Fordham to Bay Plaza Shopping Center in Co-Op City; no more service to Erskine Place; would not run via Paul Avenue and Mosholu Parkway, but directly on Bedfor Park Boulevard.
    Bx29: Palham Bay Park 6 station to City Island; no more service to Co-Op City.
    Bx30: Palham Parkway 2/5 station via Boston Road to Dreisler Loop in Co-Op City; no more service to Norwood-205 Street D station and Gun Hill Road.
    Bx34: Woodlawn to Fordham Plaza via 204 Street and Webster Avenue; service rerouted off of Valentine and Bainbridge Avenues below 204 Street.
    Bx35: Washington Heights to Jennings Avenue and West Farms Road; would bypass Gladstone Square.
    Bx36: Washington Heights to Randall Avenue; service would run all the way on Tremont Avenue instead of detouring on East 180 and East 174 Streets.
    Bx38: Would be discontinued.
    Bx40: Morris Heights to Harding Avenue in Throggs Neck; no more service to SUNY Maritime College; service would run on East 180 Street instead of East Tremont Avenue between Rosedale and Webster Avenues.
    Bx42: Westchester Square 6 station to SUNY Maritime College via Balcolm and Harding Avenues; no more service on Dewey Avenue.
    Q50: Flushing to Pelham Bay Park 6 station; no more service to Co-Op City.
    M100: Inwood to 125 Street and Amsterdam Avenue; no more service on 125 Street to 2 Avenue.
    M125: New route that would run on 125 Street from Riverside Drive 3 Avenue-149 Street 2/5 station, replacing the Manhattan leg and Southern Bronx legs of the Bx15.
    BxM2: Riverdale to Midtown via Riverside Drive; no more service via the Major Deegan Expressway or in the East Side.
    BxM4: Extended to Wakefield 241 Street from Jerome Avenue; would run on the Major Deegan Expressway and would no longer run at all on Grand Concourse.
    BxM5: A renamed BxM11; would run from East 233 Street-Bronx Boulevard to Midtown via Bronxwood Avenue; would no longer run on White Plains Road from East 241 Street to Pelham Parkway.
    BxM8: City Island to Midtown; would stay on Bruckner Boulevard instead of running on Westchester, Crosby, and Jarvis Avenues.
    BxM10: Off-Peak and Weekend service would be rerouted to serve Parkchester Hugh J. Grant Circle.
    BxM17: New route that would run from Co-Op City to Battery Park via Queens (Whitestone, Van Wyck, Horace Harding, LIE, Queens-Midtown Tunnel) and FDR Drive.
    BxM18: Riverdale to Battery Park via the West Side on Riverside Drive, 10 and 11 Avenues, and West Street; no more East Side service.
