BUDD's first stainless steel rapid transit cars, the sleek and smart "ZEPHYR" of 1934.
This unique and modern unit was the second experimental rapid transit train to operate using the full-width cabs that are commonplace today (the first was the earlier "GREEN HORNET"/"BLIMP" also operated by the BMT.
Interestingly, the first production model subway cars for New York to utilize full-width cabs were the 1936 BMT "Multi Section" units.
As for the silvery "ZEPHYR", the modernistic little train spent most of its working life on the Franklin Avenue line (long a haven for "oddball" equipment) until well into the 1950's...................

Other builders that supplied electric streetcars to Brooklyn included:
WASON
JEWETT
OSGOOD-BRADLEY
