Let's hope the photo link works. There is an Inter City Bus and two Public Service GM's, one with paired windows and an older one with evenly-spaced windows.

What an irony posting that photo, just as the 495 viaduct is being worked on for at least 18 months. I guess the more things change, they stay the same.

Great shot...from the days of no air-conditioning, and overheated engines...
And how much that scene has changed today...only that church is recognizable...
Thanks for posting it.

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked Shocked

I REPEAT: WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shocked Shocked

How well I remember those INTER-CITY ACF-BRILL C-44's!

I have not seen one in at least 50 years! (old INTER-CITY timetables had covers emblazoned with the blurb; "The Brown Bus With The Orange Band")

They ran right by our old Union City apartment house, operating on the old #97 (JSQ-PATERSON) !

If I am correct, the first paired window Old Looks purchased by PS were the 4509's.

Believe it or not, my dad was christened in that SAME church, back in 1907!

THANK YOU for posting this wonderfully nostalgic old view; man, I STILL miss those classic buses today!
