Muncie's four T70-608s - the only four built with the first-generation '08 front end - have been sold to Midwest Bus in Owosso, MI. As of last Friday, I could only find two (perhaps the other two hadn't arrived yet).
These buses are not only rare, but NICELY equipped - padded semi-suburban seats, rear lifts, 6V-92TAs, front and rear side-destination signs, and outside of a few stripped parts, are relatively complete and in good condition.
I'd love to see someone preserve one of them - perhaps a transit museum of some sort. I'm sure MWB is more than happy to sell a coach outright as opposed to letting it sit out there.
Does anyone know any transit museum who would be interested in preserving one? I watched a MAN artic and an array of GM '06s get scrapped already; I don't want to see the same for these. |
