Hey, that's really neat! Where did you find that? I started my own Fresh Pond roster list by observing the B53 now Q54 back just before that time, either late 1971 or very early 1972. I know it was before the green to blue repaints started.
If you don't mind, I'd like to tweek the lists a bit.
With some of the older fleet, there were bits and pieces rather than a full count. For FP, I remember 42, 43, 45, 47, 49 and 50 around that time. There were also a few holes in the 600's. Whenever it was I started my list, I had seen 649 for a short while.
Did Flushing actually have the full 5600-5700 fleet?
What was also left out was the 1957 and 1958 GMC TDH5106 7000 and 9000 Old Looks which were scattered throughout various depots.
If you find any other vintage rosters, that would be great. |

Cool. I hope there's one of OA depots at the same time. I also did realize FLU had all of the 56/5700s at one time. I do still remember much of what KB, COL and WF had in the mid 70s. I was somewhat familair with FLU's buses too as we lived near to West Farms Square until '79. |

Did the Castleton Bus Depot on Staten Island keep several of the
1963 GMC 5303 Fishbowl NYCTA buses in the 3600 series until the
late 1970's? |

I found it in a local hobby shop. That was the only one I found, but I hope to get back there and rummage through a couple more boxes soon.
According to the matrix, there were no New Looks retired yet, and there were no Old Looks remaining in service. But then again, it's an official TA document, so there's no guarantee of its accuracy . There are photos on this website of 1957-58 Old Looks in service on Staten Island in March and April of 1972. |

In a hobby shop...I guess you never know where you'll find stuff.
Fresh Pond ran Old Looks until early 1973, when the Fishbowl 6300's replaced them.
I also recall mid 3600's at 126 St.(MAN) at some point but not sure exactly what years.
The first generation New looks started retirement in 1974. |

Yup - I recall seeing 3600s at MAN too. This was around 1976ish when MAN had a bunch of 3600, 7000 and 8100s. |

Did'nt many of the 1963 GMC TDH 5303 NYCTA Fishbowl's stay at the
Castleton Depot until 1977 or early 78? |

Someone mentioned one of the Flxible 5000's doing time on the First and Second Avenues M15 either before or after this point, no doubt out of MAN. Any other Flxibles of the 5000's, 5100's, 5600's or 5700's ever been based out of there at any given point? There was a pic of 5632 (marked "SPECIAL") at Park Row in the early '70's, though I don't know if it was to cover for their not having "proper" rollsigns (which, at the time, would have mentioned routes 1, 3, 7, 11 and 15). |
