The Newsday website as of evening 9.6.2016 has a disturbing story of a shutdown of some coach services on Long Island, through business failure. Involved are 7Bus, Hampton Luxury Liner, and Classic Coach of Bohemia. Bill Schoolman is pictured as CEO. Fifty-three employees were told to stay home. The fleet is 27 buses. This shut-down is not new news, as earlier this year the firms filed for bankruptcy.

This is not Hampton Jitney. |

Quote: | Three bus companies, including one that carries riders to the Hamptons and another that takes Long Island commuters to Manhattan, have suspended service ahead of a Wednesday bankruptcy hearing.
Employees of Hampton Luxury Liner, 7Bus and Classic Coach were told on Labor Day not to go to work Tuesday, the bus services’ owner confirmed Tuesday. |

Here is the WARN act which was filed back in July, which shows that the companies planed on closing this month anyway.

I guess someone thought that they had less cash then they thought, and decided to close the doors early. |

I wonder if there are plans for Hampton Jitney to take over the service? Provide additional options maybe? |

Wasn't that the company that briefly operated as "Bolt Bus" on Long Island?
I never understood why Bolt (Greyhound) "franchised" that name.....
It didn't last very long, anyhow.... |

Yes.
They split with BoltBus because they wanted to offer stuff (like Commuter Passes) and services (Intra-Island Service, expansion to Nassau) the that BoltBus brand didn't/couldn't, so they created 7Bus.
To my knowledge 7Bus never did expand to Nassau. |
