Fellows:

Does anyone here know when LAKELAND retired their Old Looks?

I recall riding them a number of times with my folks back in the 60's (from PABT) to visit my aunt and uncle at their summer bungalow at Highland Lakes.

They were (IMHO) among the snappiest-looking Old Looks of all the old Jersey "Fallen Flags" in operation at that time.

Appreciate any info.....thanks in advance....

Seeing this handsome relic of the roads once again sure brought back a lot of great childhood memories.....

There is the "Forest Gump" Lakeland Old Look on display at the Museum of Bus Transportation in Hershey, PA. I think that their website has a picture of the vehicle.

Fellows:

Agreed!

That is one HANDSOME-looking bus!

I always felt that the most stylish of the Old Look suburbans were those that featured the chrome dash strips......man, talk about a coach with CLASS!
Wink

I cannot believe that it is now 39 years since I last rode aboard an Old Look suburban (ORANGE & BLACK); I STILL regard them as the ULTIMATE "Jersey Bus"! Very Happy

PS:

Sure hope someone can tell me when LAKELAND retired their Old Looks.... Rolling Eyes

Here's a rear view of the LAKELAND "Forrest Gump" Old Look; interesting to note that the bus was originally owned by WESTWOOD TRANSPORTATION LINES, before being sold to LAKELAND......

If you are going to restore a bus, restore it correctly... these buses did not have chrome wheels!

You just said what I was thinking! Very Happy

Too bad whoever initially restored the bus did not have any photos of what it looked like during its revenue service days........
