IIRC, didn't American Sightseeing (Short line), and Gray Line - NY get some of them?
And perhaps Walter's Transit?... |

You may well be correct; I vaguely remember our Mr. Linsky shedding some light on this same "stumper", quite awhile ago, elsewhere here on this board.
I remember DE CAMP rostered some Fishbowls with sightseeing panels in the roof, but I don't believe these were ex-GREYHOUND coaches from the '64 Fair.
I'm not sure, but I think that ORANGE & BLACK also operated similiar Fishbowls; I know I can remember riding "sightseeing window" Fisbowls into the 80's.........

The Somerset bus may be ex-Greyhound World's Fair. I seem to recall that they did get some of the SDH5302's.
I'd love to see a list of where the Greyhound World's Fair buses went. They were widely dispersed. Lansing, MI got 12 of the 5303 transits and Chicago & Calumet District Transit in the Chicago area got two of the suburbans. I think some of the suburbans ended up in the Vancouver area.

Thanks!
Then SOMERSET was one of the companies that purchased some of the ex-Fair Fishbowls from GREYHOUND; like yourself, I would love to see a list showing the disposition of the sighsteeing Fishbowls after the Fair closed in 1965.
As I mentioned earlier, I know ORANGE & BLACK had at least a few such coaches, but I am not at all sure if these were ex-Fair buses.......

The following photos show the fishbowls in action at the fair with a bonus post-fair photo of an interior shot of the suburban model along with it's high back seats.
Greyhound ordered 100 new looks exclusively for the fair in two batches. The largest were 60 transit model TDH-5303's, the other group of 40 were suburban model SDH-5302's - all with forward facing seats and roof skylights. Shown here are examples of each batch.
As discussed earlier, the disposal of these buses after the fair closed went primarily to Triboro Coach, Lansing, Michigan, Houston, Texas and Birmingham, Alabama while most of the suburbans went to various sightseeing operators around the country.

Great pics and info.......thanks!!
Where has a half-century gotten to so quickly?
Back in the early/mid-80's, I can remember, a number of times, riding on a "sightseeing roof" Fishbowl operating on a rush-hour "RIVER ROAD EXPRESS" nun to the PABT (this was a former O&B route; today, it is NJT's 159R)
Was really cool coming out of the Lincoln Tunnel and being able to gaze upwards at the skyscrapers, as the bus wound its way up the approach ramps into the terminal!
As is true of the Old looks, today's humdrum, boxy buses can't hold a candle to the sleek and timeless Fishbowls that we once took so much for granted........

NYBS had a couple of fishbowls with the roof windows. I don't know where they came from. |

Here are two Fishbowl suburbans (ARROW TRAILWAYS) with sightseeing panels in the roof; note the one bus signed for "32 NUTLEY"; I know that this line had once been a DE CAMP route (perhaps this bus was an ex-DE CAMP coach, or had DE CAMP sold of the #32 line to another company?).......

NEW YORK, KEANSBURG, & LONG BRANCH #83; note the always-distinctive Art Deco clearance lights, definetly not a feature of the later Fair buses......

Both NYBS fishbowls #1280 & #1281 came from Hudson Transit in 1971. Numbered as 455 & 456, Hudson has these in their sightseeing operation and were probably acquired from the World's Fair group of SDH-5302's.
